now that both GPUs can overclock, what's left in the world of synthetic benchmarking are Vantage high and extreme scores (but the latter at 1920x1080 for comparative purposes).

No. but like 5500 seems so small compared to all your big quads and extremes.

My desktop hits around 8,500 GPU in Vantage (single 4870 GDDR5), so it's not that bad.

    My E8400 is OC's to 4GHz and gets 8159.....

enable physix and you will get more than 15K in CPU score. Also I just wonder how well the 260m GTXs will do with overclocking. One more thing, you were running Crysis on 1920x1200 where Mandrake was running at 1920x1080. For somew reason I have a feeling that these 260ms will be surprising everybody.

If a P8600 hits 3GHZ, your T9600 can definitly hit 3.3GHZ or so. You have a great machine. If I was going to build one for my self, that would be your exact system.

    Shouldn't i be doing 1900 by 1200 because that's the native resolution?

Since we arekinda racing versus Asus W90, we are using their standar as they can not use ours.

Anyone tried CPUGENIE ? :D . we really need more voltage :(

My M17x went into processing today... now I need to order some new thermal paste, I'm thinking ICD 7 however I can't find it in the 7 carat form it's all sold out on their main site and ebay... anyone care to share a link or have any other reccomendations, I've also considered OCZ freeze, but after reading numerous reviews ICD 7 seems like my best bet.. (I've only used artic silver before this lol)

No problem, when my nest egg builds up some again I may just get a Q9200 for my W90 then I will need some too.

$250 on ebay right now w/ free ship

But that will be a while, and the SSD comes first I think.

2.93 isn't bad for a quad really... Look at viscious with his 2.0 Quad Oc 2.4 he hays some of the highest benches and gameplay averages on the site... restr assured 2.93 will stick kick ash in everything

    Not even into 70c.

    here is my best run:

    (click for lager)

    Q9000 @ 2.85ghz

    From W90 Benchmarks
I'm telling you guys I know in my gut that the Q9000 Q9100 Q9200 and Q9300 are almost all exactly the same, as long as you can get the right voltage and fsb they should do near the same speeds except I would expect a higher quality silicon/binning on the QX9300 since it is an extreme chip.

At that high a FSB I know its my RAM giving out on me (its locked at 5:4 DDR2 667 timings) and I feel positive that this chip will go into the 3+ghz range if I find a way to change my ram divider or loosten up its latency timings.

Yeah passed Wprime but its not fully stable, 2.8ghz is game stable but I stick with 2.7ghz.

This is why I keep asking or looking for Q9000 OC on the M17X as I am holding it to at least a 2.7ghz standard.

killthro overclocked his Q9000 to 2.4ghz...

    A interesting thing?

    2533mhz (qx9300) + 400 = 2.930 (kicsem)
    2000mhz (q9000) + 400 = 2.400 (killthro)
    2400mhz (p8600) + 600 = 3.000 (nvidia or sleepy0... don't remember who was)
    2800mhz (t9600) + 600 = 3400 (ok clauss get 3.3 not 3.4 but it's close ;) )

Basically our limits r 400 for quad core and 600 for dual core ;)

I think it's because your proc is 45W just as quad cores so it need more voltage than 25W dual cores ;) .

In cpugenie we trust ( ? )

No just just Bios OC. The higher I push the proc the higher voltage I get but top out at 1.35V.
