now that both GPUs can overclock, what's left in the world of synthetic benchmarking are Vantage high and extreme scores (but the latter at 1920x1080 for comparative purposes).
-
Did vantage...they are really bad...8794 GPU score and 5541 cpu score. Seems really..low
-
did you oc that 9600 yet? -
No. but like 5500 seems so small compared to all your big quads and extremes.
-
My desktop hits around 8,500 GPU in Vantage (single 4870 GDDR5), so it's not that bad.
My E8400 is OC's to 4GHz and gets 8159..... -
enable physix and you will get more than 15K in CPU score. Also I just wonder how well the 260m GTXs will do with overclocking. One more thing, you were running Crysis on 1920x1200 where Mandrake was running at 1920x1080. For somew reason I have a feeling that these 260ms will be surprising everybody.
-
If a P8600 hits 3GHZ, your T9600 can definitly hit 3.3GHZ or so. You have a great machine. If I was going to build one for my self, that would be your exact system.
-
Shouldn't i be doing 1900 by 1200 because that's the native resolution?
-
Since we arekinda racing versus Asus W90, we are using their standar as they can not use ours.
-
-
John your single GPU records are mine
JP i can't compete with you CPU but your GPU part i can
since my 260 is a 9800m gtx .... -
-
You dont want CPU overclocking? well if you do. 3.3Ghz right now. About to test crysis.
-
lol@mr moo! you better beat it my friend!..
clauss - over clock everything and go for the gold...plenty of time later to baby her and let her operate in a normal perimeter...later...lol -
Lol how high should I be able to get? 3.5? thats .8 Ghz above base. Seems like a lot to me. 3.33 is fine by me.
-
0.4 and 0.6 looks to be the limits to quad and dual respectively with this vcore...
Anyone tried CPUGENIE ?. we really need more voltage
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
My M17x went into processing today... now I need to order some new thermal paste, I'm thinking ICD 7 however I can't find it in the 7 carat form it's all sold out on their main site and ebay... anyone care to share a link or have any other reccomendations, I've also considered OCZ freeze, but after reading numerous reviews ICD 7 seems like my best bet.. (I've only used artic silver before this lol)
-
I would say stay with AS5... It's performing pretty good for years
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yeah but I'm out of it
, and I think it's time to move on... there are better pastes for around the same price... and you don't have to wait for it to cure
-
big what does cpugenie do?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Allows you to change your voltage and such
http://www.cpugenie.com/ If you are interested
"So, how’s the magic done? CPUgenie can be used to make the CPU run on lower voltages than factory defaults and with improved dynamic speed regulation algorithm. As the result, your computer consumes less power and generates less heat under heavy loads! Read how we cooled down Sony Vaio Z by 26°C!" -
butter
trying is nice but in this case we are using it to up the voltage so we can overclock more -
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
It works both ways Moo lol, it is simply an app that makes it easier to change voltage... I was just reading up on it now lol I have never heard of it before, and is not the question he asked to promote learning?
-
i know it works both way but why on earth would we wanna undervolt it?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Lol read again... I was trying to tell you I read that on the site as you criticized me lol...
-
i know you were reading from the site but that part isn't what we were using it for.....So i just didn't want to get him confused
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Mehh, whatever... now about that ICD 7 thermal... I need to find some in the 7 carat size... any ideas other than the rediculous priced ones on Ebay... the main site is also sold out

Ahhh No go... I looked in all sites, obviously the main site has them but as I said before they are sold out
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ahhh Vicious I owe you one... I found it for a very good price at the Heatsink factory thanks man + rep

No problem, when my nest egg builds up some again I may just get a Q9200 for my W90 then I will need some too.
$250 on ebay right now w/ free ship
But that will be a while, and the SSD comes first I think. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea you are probably right... but hell I was going to get my Qx9300 anyway... why not save 600 dollars even at a little risk
-
The problem in this Q9200 is that is a ES not QS
-
and it could only OC to 2.93
-
My kingdom for more voltage
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
2.93 isn't bad for a quad really... Look at viscious with his 2.0 Quad Oc 2.4 he hays some of the highest benches and gameplay averages on the site... restr assured 2.93 will stick kick ash in everything

no the m17 could push 9300's to 3.2-3.5 ghz no problem but that capped off @ 2.93 ...

-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yikes.. good job viscious! what are your temps looking like?

Not even into 70c.
here is my best run:
(click for lager)
Q9000 @ 2.85ghz
From W90 Benchmarks
At that high a FSB I know its my RAM giving out on me (its locked at 5:4 DDR2 667 timings) and I feel positive that this chip will go into the 3+ghz range if I find a way to change my ram divider or loosten up its latency timings.Last edited by a moderator: May 7, 2015 -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
am I correct in that saying 2.848 Ghz! sweet

This is why I keep asking or looking for Q9000 OC on the M17X as I am holding it to at least a 2.7ghz standard. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
I know one of our members has the Q9000 however, I don't think he's doing any OC'ing
-
The w90' q9000 is godly lol
That AW member with q9000 should try and push his.
-
killthro overclocked his Q9000 to 2.4ghz...
A interesting thing?
2533mhz (qx9300) + 400 = 2.930 (kicsem)
2000mhz (q9000) + 400 = 2.400 (killthro)
2400mhz (p8600) + 600 = 3.000 (nvidia or sleepy0... don't remember who was)
2800mhz (t9600) + 600 = 3400 (ok clauss get 3.3 not 3.4 but it's close)
Basically our limits r 400 for quad core and 600 for dual core -

.
In cpugenie we trust ( ? ) -
