    Hi guys,

When ever I go on battery power the wireless card turns itself off and no matter what I tried couldnt get it working. I changed the power setting to high power, this didn;t help. Machine is not in stealth mode. I cahnged the wirelss power settings in the power management to maximum power. I tried reinstalling the broadcom drivers, and no help either. It looks like something turns the Wifi adapter off when ever I plug the power off but can not figure out which applciation is doing it. Any ideas?

You should have some advanced power save features options for the device specifically in the device manager.

You maybe need to uncheck the selection that says "allow this device to enter power save mode" or something along those lines.

dumb question.. never thought of this before with vista.. mainly used it on my desktop.

Is there a connected disconnected icon for the sys tray like xp would show?
I just have one icon that does both Ethernet and wireless. I would like to be able to glance at it to tell if wireless is connected or disconnected like in xp..

    Just curious..

you should be able to have both show on the "bar" as seperate units.
i cant remember right off, but there usually is a "show when device is connected/disconnected" check box....i think...lol
