So, I'm sure at least couple people are curious about if the new ATI eyefinity feature will work on the M17x m5870. Not a huge selling feature imo, but definitely cool. Anyway, I stumbled upon this vid and it looks good for the the M17x supporting it, since it too has DP, VGA and HDMI:

YouTube - HP Envy 17 and HP Envy 14!

Skip ahead to the 1:25 mark and you see a new Envy 17 running 3 monitors in Eyefinity, even playing Dirt 2. However, there are some things to keep in mind about trying eyefinity (with the desktop version):

-All monitors have to be the same resolution (1200p native an issue?)
-You need an ACTIVE displayport adaptor (expensive, DELL DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI Adapter for OptiPlex / Latitude / Alienware Laptops / Precision/ Precision Mobile Workstations : Desktop Computer Accessories ? Speakers, Adapters, | Dell Canada) passive ones won't work
-Some games need a hack or just won't work period

    Thoughts?

Don't see eyefinity on notebooks being too big of a point, when currently notebooks are already barely playing on full HD resolution at max settings, cutting the framerate by 2/3 to support 3 monitors is not too good of an idea, which means you will need to turn down the resolution or graphics, if so I would rather have just one screen in max resolution and graphics.
