I was wondering how smoothly hybrid sli works in Windows 7? I am thinking of getting a new R1 from Dell because of the great deal and hybrid. I def need a laptop that can get 2 hours of battery when surfing the web from time to time (so I can bring laptop downstairs to tv). However I remember there being some problems with hybrid sli and windows 7. Have they been able to resolve this? Also how much battery time do you think I can get surfing the web on a T9800 and SLI 260s? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I get around 2 - 2,1/2 hours on battery (balanced profile, running on 9400m). With latest DELL beta drivers, for me at least, hybrid works as it should.

Does hybrid still work if I upgrade to the 4870x2? Or does the 9400m only work with Nvidia cards?

Hybrid SLI won't work. Which means you won't be able to switch from the 4870s to the 9400M and vice versa on the fly without rebooting.
You will still be able to switch to the 9400M via BIOS, though, but it will disable the 4870s until you reboot the system and set it back in the BIOS (or do FN+F7 in the OS which should be able to do that automatically for you - but I'm not sure).
