I'm noticing link color (like those from Google searches) appears purple, regardless of whether the links have been visited or not. There is a subtle difference, mostly one of shading (the supposed blue links appear a slightly darker purple) . I've tried messing with Win 7 color calibrations, etc., but can't get true blue links to show up. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Info:

    • 1900 x 1200 display, 32-bit true color
    • Same problem regardless of browser used
    • Doesn't matter if I'm using integrated or discrete graphics (ATI)
    • No effect when changing to clear type font or the font sizing via control panel
    • Looked for a calibration app on the resources disk, but found none
    • Tried freeware calibration program (Monitor Calibration Wizard), but couldn't fix it.

As far as I can tell, other colors are fine. Images look ok too--the sky is blue like it's supposed to be.

    Any suggestions?

Try control panel > internet options, at the bottom there is a 'colour' button - select that. Unselect 'use windows colours' and choose what you want.

Thanks for the tip. Tried it, but selecting a more bluish color still results in unvisited links that look more purple than blue. I also came across Color Management in the control panel, which I never knew existed. Not sure what all of those profiles are. Tried selecting different profiles, but nothing really fixes it.

Still scratching my head about the problem, especially because it's a cross-browser symptom and is even noticeable in Windows Explorer for files/folders that are compressed (normally denoted in blue).

Hi, I've been seeing the same problem on my m17x
I got it yesterday and the difference in color ,compared to the Dell XPS M1710, is enormous and extremely annoying.

I've just watched a movie and instead of the people having the pinkish skin color, they are yellow.

I've compared it side by side with the other PC and I'm going to take some screenshots and post them here to clarify our problem to the others.

There is a very high odd that your screenshot will tell us nothing since screenshot often does not capture the symptom.

Try to calibrate the color to see if there is any difference.

    Cheers everybody...
