    What would you do?

Since the first time the power button was pressed this unit has locked up more times in the week I have owned it than any other pc I have had since I was a kid. It's borderline sad. IS this windows 7's fault? or something else? It just randomly locks up for no reason..sometimes right when i turn the machine on and get into windows and click one obscure thing like the volume controls. It is bizarre, and after dropping 2600 on this metallic beast I am beginning to think this annoyance is not worth any dollar amount.

Now yes, i could reload EVERYTHING as some of you are going to want to say..but why should i? the PC is a week old and has been doing this from the unboxing.

    Opinions
    Suggestions Appreciated.

I would give it another chance. Do the respawn. If it does lock up again, return it. Dell tech would try and make you keep it by sending out a tech to look at it, after they diagnost it. I would say, I would like a brand new unit.

If it has problems within the return period...return it. I NEVER keep a piece of technology that is broken off the bat.

Well, you should use your respawn disc...cause you can't trust some one in china or malaysia to install it for you. Looks like a OS problem...it's only been a few weeks and i'm sure you won't loose anything. I respawn mines the first day I had it...just so I can see for myself that I did install my own mistakes. Every computer I ever own has always been fresh installed....but that's my own perference. If that still wont fix it return the Big Bad RED DEMON!!!

Couldn't agree more... Dell only provides a 30 day from date of invoice. Or is it 21-days? If you are going to do it, make a decision soon. You can also opt to have them build another and exchange it. Call them if you aren't satisfied.
