i don't know if some one else has the same problem by installing windows 7, ever since i installed every time i turn on my laptop a disc check for consistency appears, but its kind of tricky, i let it run past the 10 seconds and nothing its just stops at 1 second and i have to reboot it 3 times to properly boot into windows, and today morning at my college it did not booted up at all, i pressed any key within the 10 seconds and let it run for the 10 seconds like 10 times and did not booted up so. so i had to try to fix it by the hard way, i turned off the laptop when the windows logo appeared to get into windows start up problems, and it fixed the disc errors, but this its not the first time this happend since i installed windows 7, do any one else have a solution to fix this crappy windows 7 probblem, if so let me know

im sorry for my english (5 years of learning it)

I had the exact same problem when I installed windows 7. That stupid disk check for consistency. If you can make it to your desktop you could try and run chkdsk and see if that will fix it. When i had that problem, i just turned on my laptop one day and it automatically ran chkdsk and that seemed to fix it.

The minimum amount of characters needed to post.

Try the Dell diagnostics by booting off the resource DVD and do a scan on your hard disk.
