I've encountered a very strange problem with my m17x. Whenever I try to run dedicated graphics either with or without the integrated graphics, my computer performance slows to an unbearable crawl. However, this only occurs when the PC is plugged in. When the PC is not plugged in, it runs normally when dedicated graphics are enabled. Could this be some sort of heat issue?

Can't be a heat issue if if being unplugged causes it to work correctly. Try updating the drivers if you haven't already. (You didn't state that you did) They don't like to play nice with hybrid SLi

Drivers are all up to date. I've also tried to roll back to older versions. The problem persists. But only when the PC is plugged in (which sucks, because I have to break once every hour or so when I play games).

Bump. I still haven't found a solution to this issue.

Right click on you battery icon (on the taskbar right corner) and click Power Options. Select High Performance. I would advice you to click "Change plan settings" and review them in order to make sure that they are not changed.
If that doesn't work press the stealth button on the touch strip to see if you are on stealth mode. (I would advice you to press it anyways in order to see the difference to your system)

None of the power plan settings have been altered (I set all plans to default). The PC is not in Stealth Mode. The performance drop (which is massive) only occurs when the PC utilizes the dedicated graphics while plugged in.

Keep it plugged in and put it on stealth mode, reboot and tell me how it behaves
Press again the stealth button, reboot and tell me if you see any difference
