Hey all, this thread branches off from the "*OFFICIAL* Alienware M17x Thread" where my attempt to render the now debunked "Red" M17x chassis sprouted many custom renditions which you'll see below... Got Photoshop skills? well here's the place to exercise them! Don't know squat about photo manipulation? Well give me your suggestions, I'm taking requests![]()
*Note: as more are made and posted on later pages of the thread, I will update this list to include them*

Alot of pictures there! Nice job, I like the Carbon Fibre one, and the Alienware themed one. Nice.
-
good job man
-
Nice. I like yellow, it's almost reminiscent of a Lamborghini.
-
Wow - very nice. I hope someone at Alienware sees these.
-
The white looks nice but I'm planning to laser etch and don't think the original silver underneath would contrast enough. The glyphs/crop circles would make for good engravings.

I am so glad something like this finally popped up and I immediately +repped you of course. I was giddy a while back when someone posted the ebay skins for the M17 because let's face it the technology is there and it should be licenced out for use on future machines. Why let someone else do your work, when you could be providing that service yourself and marking it up accordingly.
If Dell realizes that offering something so completely customizable as to get custom paints or user-defined skin patterns could be THE selling point vs the Clevo competition, then they'd buy the rights to the technology and try to implement it ASAP... right?
Doubtful! But in a tightening market in competitiveness and with the economy the way it is, I think it's a nice selling point... but it will never happen -
-
Haha! Nice! Lamborghini-sponsored Alienware coming in the future?
-

-
first three actually look the best. lol

OK, for those with network restrictions, please try this link and let me know if you can access the images there. I'll work on updating the original post with links to the individual files, but all future postings will have those links

Great Job on the skins! Thanks for posting.
I would really like to customize mine if I could. -
I REALLY like the white one. *Fingers Crossed*
-
awesome thread man, amazing job on the pics. +rep
im thinkin of gettin the silver one and do stencils with spraypaint on it -

Since you seem to be doing requests, I'll chime in:
Any chance to get something orange in color? Like Syracuse Orange, not Tennessee, Texas or Clemson... Thanks a bunch from this NCAA Sports fan! -
To me the idea of painting over the the aluminum finish is just sacrilegious. Anodizing is the way to go since it will change the color but it'll still look like aluminum.

Something I wouldn't be happy with for the long term, though would be interesting to see, would be to engrave a Terminator body for the Alienhead. -
Nice work guys! I think I am still a fan of the old black one though... Although when I think of the M17x this springs to mind
Any one want to make an alienware photoshop with teeth? -

That is bloody fantastic! These would sell like hotcakes up on the Hill and around Upstate NY...
There are so many untapped potential markets, and as you mentioned Falcon has been doing it at quite prohibitive levels, but that's technology and industrial design from a few years ago. You can't tell me that nowadays they couldn't make this work and be hugely successful in increasing unit sales and bringing this even more mainstream. But hey, what do I know... I'm just a lowly tech agent
Thanx again Praze. More ++ soon. -
Could...could you guys do a Fable themed one? (like the pic in my sig)
orr a zelda themed one? -
-
I like the covering whole thing like a skin one
-
Really great stuff Praze, my imagination is running wild now! lol, racing stripe is the coolest to me. +rep to you

not bad, i like the carbon fiber style

I really like the Spawn ones because I'm a major Spawn fan.
I think if AW did try to the Ferrari one, MSI would sue the pants off of them. Doesn't MSI still have a Ferrari notebook? -
-
I like the Ferrari theme !
Try a U.S. Marine Theme. -
dark knight it please... also jokerize it.

Really cool job Praze!
