My problem is that the touch sensitivity is way to high using the windows drivers, I can't even type a sentence without my palm accidentally brushing over the corner of the touch pad and causing a mouse click. I have looked through the settings and there isn't one to change the tap sensitivity.
As a result of this I switched back to using the Synaptics drivers (latest ones from their website) and everything works beautifully EXCEPT there is a 1 second delay between the time I tap the touchpad and the time the mouse click occurs. Is there any way to eliminate this delay? It does not happen in windows. I have seen numerous pages in google that relate to this issue in Linux, but nothing for Windows. Can someone please help me?
+Rep for anyone who helps!

I would say use the touchpad drivers from dell's website.
I used to have issues with my touchpad (similar to yours) but after tweaking the sensitivity settings etc.. I have finally got them to work.
For example, I had to turn down my scroll sensitivity (corner and bottom scroll) to almost 0 to get my cursor to move normally.
Hope this helps as it took me a lot of trial and error but is not working correctly.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you find yourself clicking somewhere while you're typing because your palms hit the touch pad? That is my biggest concern...Regardless, thanks and +Rep.
Anyone else? -
Yeah, that does happen to me relatively often. Do you have command center installed? If so, open it up (the UFO button on the touchpad is the shortcut), click touch, and then go to sensitivity. You'll want to move the top slider (accidental touch sensitivity) all the way to the right. I've found that not only is it less sensitive to your palms sliding over it and moving the cursor, but that it also seems to make it less likely to accidentally click when you tap it with your palm. Hope this helps!

Ah, but with the touch pad drivers installed I don't have that issue of accidentally clicking, my issue is that there is a delay from the time I tap the touch pad to the time the computer actually clicks.
My issue without the drivers is that I accidentally click with my palms, but without the drivers I can't use the AlienTouch feature of the Command Center.
Kinda a lose-lose situation. -
Yeah, sorry to hear that.
I'm pretty sure most laptops have a bit of a click delay though. I'll google it a bit, and let you know if I find anything useful. -
Sweet, thanks.
