Is it possible to get this config for $2000? I can't call Dell until tomorrow, so I'm wondering...

Price comes out to around $2400 with EPP. Does anyone have a similar config that got it for around $2000 or less?

 

That might be tough. You're asking for another 20% discount, after EPP. Good setup though; that's what I've been looking at buying (I have an R1 right now), except with 1333MHz RAM (it's worth it) and in black.

You are a soldier lol. We normally can't get that kind of deal (plus a Orion backpack as I remember )

 

Say something like, "I'm willing to make this purchase right now if you can give me an additional discount around 150 dollars. If not, I guess we're done here." They'll go try and get permission from their supervisor to approve the discount and hopefully you'll get it. If not, tell em peace out and call back. Eventually, you should get a representative with a supervisor who's willing to do it. These people want to sell laptops, and they get a commission... they're willing to take a hit to get your thousands of dollars.

 

$400 more off the EPP price is ALOT to ask for but good luck ... Thats an additional 17% or so off the 10% already....

 

I take it you are looking for encouragement? I would say it could be done. In fact, make that a 1TB and take an extra $25 off the price you want

I suggest you keep pushing, politely. The wost thing they can say is no. Also, if you have bought plenty from Dell before, they may hold you in good light.

 

upgrade the harddrive yourself, that will make it less of a drop and more likely to happen

 

Yeah i would love to bs around and get deal i want especial with all these problems this machine has you should demand for one like there is no tomorrow!
