    Yes, it's here guys. :D

    First Impressions:
    1) LED screen looks great to me, although i don't have the R1 to compare with. It looks much better than my unibody MBP.
/*The MBP is calibrated for photo editing, Alienware has more contrast, detail w/o tuning. Color looks much better on the Alienware, imo. 100% brightness on MBP, 6 bar 90% brightness on Alienware.*/
    2) No throttle or latency issues.
    3) Build quality is amazing, also it's not a "loud" system to me since I've heard about the R1 which can be easily heard across rooms.
    4) Touch pad is actually quite good, although i don't know about the R1 issues to compare with here.
    5) Sound quality is amazing imo. Again I'm comparing to my unibody MBP. Loud and clear.
    6) Fans and Temperatures:

Etc) Btw, no GDDR5 surprise here, for those who are still dreaming. loll

Benchmark will be up in the next hour. //Didn't know you need to pay for benchmark settings loll, i'm stuck with trial versions i guess.
Anyhow, if it's of any use, stock settings (Don't know why it's showing i7 950) :

So, welcome in the club of m17x owners :) Please don't forget to check dpc latency, I think all R1 owners are waiting for this (including me) :)

If you can do something like a cut and paste of your scores would be good. Just use image shack to show the screen smaller.

...... your worried about crysis when crysis 2 is coming out ?

ITs going to be the exact same ( give or take 5%) as the M17x with the core 2 duo with 4870's?

but evga tuning utility has worked on some systems

15K default CPU score in Vantage. At stock that beats us by over 1K....NICE!

We will be hitting 16K Vantage with this system thanks to the CPU.

    Edit: oops..I meant CPU

Not sure if i have the time, it probably looks the same as the R1? :p But Silver sure looks hot. Am glad i didn't pick the Black one. This is my very first Alienware and I'm very pleased with it so far. ;)

Gonna try fraps with L4D2, COD MF2, Dirt 2 and GTA IV tonight!

I spent the whole night doing research on headphone, tube amp and DAC not knowing that we already have a R2 here :D

    Great! + rep!

Edit: And since you have a MBP handy, can you take pics of both R2 and MBP display in the same light condition, same picture (choose a really colorful one :p)? I know Im asking too much but if you can do that :D

Thank you so much for your efforts, that is a nice rig there!
First thing I do when using an OS for the first time, whether it was XP, Vista (which I hated) or Windows 7, first thing I do is to go to BlackViper.com and follow the Windows Services guide there, you'll be surprised how much performance improves after you disable several services that auto start by default and which are not really necessary, some of them do use a lot of resources...
I'll be waiting for your fraps report, thanks again! ;)

Yeah I'm not into the whole benchmarking thing but ppl asked me to do it anyway. I did post the results but it didn't show after that, oh well. So i'll leave the serious benchmarking to the other NBRs. :)

Thanks mate, you and the rest of the peeps here will be getting your rigs pretty soon anyway. I'm looking forward to some tips on OC/tweaking the system. :D
