I would like to change the alien-head that it shows up when you first boot the laptop even so it is in the bios it self there should be a way to do it. I've call dell technical support and this young girl answer the phone and after 3 minutes on hold she came back saying that it is very complicated to explain so I said to her not to even start with it,but instead to send it to me by e-mail. Now I got this feeling that I'll never get the e-mail back with the explanation.
I just don't like that much this big red head at start up.
I'm wandering if anyone here it knows how to do it :)
    Thanks

i have a feeling that you need to reverse engineer the bios, change the picture and reflash, but i think nobody attempted it with R2.
I know there's a guy here that have messed around with other AW bioses, but i don't know who it is.

Here, if you are brave enough to try it, you can change the logo image.

Thanks I've downloaded Phoenix editor 2.2.0.1 PRO installed it and also downloaded the 17x-R2 A02 bios from dell but when I've tried to open the W851A02.ROM file with the bios editor it came back with this " NO BCP FOUND " now I don't know if the M17x-R2 Bios it's different from the one that the MOO was using, anyways I did give it a try :(

you need big kahunas to try that thing, the danger of bricking the rig is substantial and the gain is well, not so big

You don't have access to a full BIOS dump. I have tried on the r-2. ..

Right now unless some one dumps the whole epprom then you up the pervertial polluted esutuary

Fair enough. Better to stay on the safe side for now.
