Firstly sorry if this has been covered, i didnt have much luck with the search.

I have installed win 7 64 bit fresh install, have installed the drivers and am trying to get the commander center to install R251006 A04. Well it comes up with error 1633.

Has anyone else found this problem. I cannot install using the files that came with the laptop dvd.

    Thanks!
    Rob

No, I downloaded from dell support and then tried from the support disk. Thats two format and then win 7 installs to try that. I shall try the alienware win 7 install disk next, have been using a usb install for speed and because I wanted ultimate, but lappy came with pro.

Ok, fresh install with the alienware DVD win 7 pro allows command center to work. There must be some driver hiding in the alienware win 7 install that allows the magic to happen.

Now how to find out what it is and put it on my win 7 ultimate usb install.

LOL thankyou! was one of the most painful purchases I can remember, now if I can get the comp working all will be forgiven :)

    Yes changing sig now.

On the phone with alienware. There is something hiding on the alienware win 7 pro disk that makes CC work. I need that on my USB win 7 Ultimate, but havn't found it, and the help desk was not so useful.

Alienware directed me to MS. Hmm

Maybe try running the installer as an Administrator.
