I have received a replacement M17x R2 for my faulty R1 several days ago and am experiencing intermittent blue screens (stop code 0x0000000A). I have all the latest drivers, ATI 10.3, A02 bios, and such. When it last happened last night, I had just opened the lid to surf and it blue screened. I'm thinking that the video driver is having issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Was the system in Sleep mode? Do those BSODs happen all of a sudden, at boot, etc?

No, I never let the machine sleep. When I have the lid closed, I tell it to do nothing. It never happens on boot or shutdown.

Looks like a power settings conflict to me. It can be a video driver related issue. If the BSODs happen at boot or during normal operation, I'd start from scratch,- re-flash the BIOS, re-install the OS.
Maybe run hardware diagnostics first. Could be a faulty memory stick or an HDD.

Power settings conflict? Do you think that Alien Fusion and the Windows power scheme are conflicting?

I don't think it's connected to AlienFusion, but rather something to do with the W7 power settings and the ATI video driver. I find it strange that sometimes, even though I change the settings to do nothing (in W7 control panel) my system still goes to sleep, dims the screen, starts the screensaver, etc.

I don't have my W7 computer with me here at work. But IIRC there are actually 2 places in W7 that you can change the power settings. Sometimes, changing the settings in one place does not update the other. I remember that when I set the lid to do nothing, I had to do it in 2 places. If noone else chimes in with the answer before I get home, I'll try to find it then.
