Good afternoon all,
i received my M17x today, initial impression is one of WOW this thing is huge!
Kinda suprised how it turned out as this is the first time i have seen an Alienware in person.
Will take pics and post a review soon but so far all thumbs up for me![]()

well so far one little niggle that is causing some gaming woes, for some odd reason the intel turbo memory is causing Warhammer online to completely shut the system down after about 20 mins of play. I have contacted AW about this issue and they are working on a solution. I am working on the pics now so i should have those up sometime this weekend with my review. But yes it is large but my friend has a Dell XPS 17 inch notebook and this one seems smaller then the one he has. The 9800 GT's are quieter then i expected them to be. I have heard horror stories about how loud this system can be.
Over all though i love it! Other then the shutdown issue. But turning off the turbo cache fixes the issue. -
I feel your pain too. I got the turbo memory and when i shut it down, the overall performance of my m15x increased lol, i turned it back on after upgrading to 64bit, seems to be fine now.

Found out that no it was not the turbo memory but the CPU that was causing the system to shut off. The CPU Fan was not working when i received it and was causing all the issues. The guy from Alienware did teh remote assistance thing and ran a CPU Stress test and i watched as the temps rose and the system shut off. I heard him mumble **not good**. He was really nice and walked me through taking the system apart and checking the CPU fan connection. I disconnected and reconnected and TA DA it works now!
A+ for Alienware Tech Support!!!! -
