    Hi all,

I bought a 1 month old M17x from someone that recently passed away (very sad). I was wondering how much of a hassle it would be to transfer the ownership? I filled out the online form, and first it came up with an error message, then said it would take 10 days to process. Is this normal?

I guess my upgrade question would be, the person who owned this comp originally opted for the 1440x900 screen and it suffers from some terrible light leakage from the bottom. My question is that once I have all the warranty straightened out, will I be able to get this replaced under warranty? I am wanting to get the WUXGA screen, what are my chances with getting dell to swap my current for a WUXGA? I don't mind paying the $150 difference it would of cost if I had built it the website, would they charge me some ridiculous Spare Parts price for it?

Also I heard Moo was the guy to talk to for a QX9300... I currently have a T9600 and was thinking of upgrading sometime in the future. Whats the best price I can get on a QX9300? I read someone throwing around the $400 range.

    thanks!!

There's someone on this forum who upgraded the screen. It's not an easy process ASAIK though.

And, for a QX9300, you can get OEM for $502 from HP. I've never heard of anything around $400. Maybe they have ES for that range on ebay.

    Edit: Sorry, I meant HP.

would I not just be able to disconnect the lid and send the entire assembly to dell and have them install it?

I'm not sure. You can try calling tech support and ask. or wait for someone else's reply.
