So I have the newest drivers off of dell.

    Win7 Pro x64 (RTM/Retail)

I didn't have this problem in Vista.

Running DPC Latency Checker shows a spike of > 16000 microseconds every so often. This causes music to noticeably stutter.

Has anyone found a cause and/or fix for this? Yes I installed the drivers released a couple days ago and it didn't fix the problem.

I think it's still generally accepted that the SLI graphics cards are causing this. It goes away if you're running on the integrated graphics, but the second you switch to the dual cards, it starts getting crappy.

Wait... That most annoying sound stutters that I have in Win 7 RTM is caused by DPC Latency issue??

Do you have to rub it in? :) But what drivers are you running for chipset/audio etc...?

For me the new audio drivers kinda fixed the sound stuttering problem. It still happens when watching youtube HD but itunes no longer stutters... only when OSD menu comes up...

And it is getting worse now...

    I get stuttering in Songbird.

I'll try running just the 9400 and see if I get stuttering later, maybe they're right that the SLI drivers are owning us.

I am using all the newest drivers for my hardware from the dell website and the new bios. All of them are up to date on what dell has released.

So it seems the SLI cards are the problem, running on the 9400 almost completely removed the latency problems. I still get occasional lag, but it doesn't cause stuttering.

    I'm running 186.82

I have disabled SLI and the sound stuttering is much less than with SLI.

    This is very frustrating.....

I am hoping that this gets sorted out with some updated windows 7 drivers.
