I pulled the palm rest off of my m17x to see if I can swap out the Broadcom Wireless card for an Intel. The Intel I had in my M1730 had 3 wires, In this I see a half card and a regular card. The half has 2 plugs and the full has 1.

Can someone else that to me? The card I would pop out only has 1 wire. Am I missing something?

    Thanks

I don’t see any reason why you can’t use another wireless card. As you mentioned, the Intel 4965 in the M1730 had 3 wires - you would have to run one yourself of course since the M17x only has 2. With the Intel 5300, I think there are 3 wires as well. :( You'll have to research this - I haven't looked into it as an upgrade as I'm content with the 1510 Wireless card.

Nope - no N here. Haven't bothered to upgrade. I'm ok with G speed for now. I seldom do large transfers over the home network so its not a big issue.
