    Hi there,

Im having some issues with my wifi disconnecting once i close the lid on my M17x. In the mobility center and also alien FX i have checked and double checked all settings are set to 'Do nothing' on closing the lid, However the second i close the lid Wifi dies.

Is anyone else having any issues with this?

I've also had 3 random disconnects using a cable connection, and also random disconnects while the lid has been open on wifi/cabled internet.

All in all, my internet connection just isnt stable..This is at various different locations all with multiple other pcs running stable connections.

    Any advice would be great.

Not sure if this will help, but also check the Windows Power Profile Advanced Settings for the profile you are currently on. There is a section on LID behavior.

You may also want to check that your driver isn't disabling your card on battery. Sometimes you can find this in the device manager. But it may just turn up in the advanced settings ast BatBoy suggested.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Don't know if this applies to the m17x, but I had my acer ferrari's internal wireless antennas on both sides of the screen itself..... so the wave spread profile (omnidirectional) is strongest to the sideways of my notebook.... When you close the lid, the antennas will lie parallel to the floor which is a very bad profile for wifi signal strength (especially if you don't have the wifi router nearby)

So whenever I close the lid, my wifi dies.... so does my m17x

Nice point there steele, thanks for the help here.

Changed afew options, hopefully it'll improve.

If not, i guess it could just be my router setup with the lid causing more object interferance when closed.
