So i got my M17x today after waiting 3 months and for some reason its just really slow atm, my old laptop which is horrible is faster atm and for no reason should it be seeing as how it has tons of virus's... Im assuming its because when making my account with vista i turned it off because all it showed was a background for like 10 minutes and i was new with vista and didnt know im not supposed to do that untill i read the manual... what should i do? Re-install vista or is there some other way to fix this?

I would just put the Vista disc in, quick reformat the drive, and re-install Windows.

This is what I do with every new system. Should clear up any software problems right away.

If you do this and it still isn't working right then time to call Dell....

What you describe is most likely a stealth mode.

Before formatting your PC you should make sure you are not in stealth mode.

Make sure you turn on your machine with the power plugged in or you wont be able to get out of discrete.
