Has anyone noticed a high pitch noise from their M17x. It's pretty much there all the time. Although sometimes goes depending on what you're doing, but it's only for a second or two.

When you're in a quiet room, it really does get bloody annoying. It's not really loud either, but it's very clear it's there.

I put mine in stealth mode and it still makes the high pitch noise. Is it not the CPU fans or the cooling system?

I don't notice it when I'm gaming or on skype but really irks me when everythings quiet lol

Mine made a high pitched whine from the back of the machine when plugged in, they ended up replacing the AC adapter and the noise was pretty much gone.

its usually whats called a GPU white... its the actual electrical circuits making noise when they are under load

Pull your Power cord and see if it still does this on battery, that rules out PSU.

Run Prime95 and see if it stops, that rules in motherboard if 100% load stops the noise.

Play a game or Furmark and see how it reacts to GPU utilization.

If it ends up being the GPUs vsync sometimes helps.
