Ok so my M17x decided not to charge today and i didn't think much of it ....
Now after 1 hour of trouble shooting @ 2am i am ready for bed and i figured i would post it up and let you guys throw out suggestions to try @ work tommorw
things tried:
booting with no Battery then shutting down then poping it back in and rebooting
swapping while running
tried both batteries i own
removed and replugged the AC adapter
verified the AC adapter is good
disabled then enabled the battery
beat it
now i am tired and out of ideas ... the DC jack on the mobo is fine and YES the battery IS enabled![]()

Try flashing back to the old bios and see if that helps at all .
All the things you tried are what i would have so beyond that it could be something with the motherboard/machine itself.
You could try restoring your BIOS to default first then power down for a minute or 2 and try again.
Yank out the CMOS battery also worth a shot. -
i said noobs beware ....
*facepalm*
one battery is completely dead aka 1 % the other is @ 8 % -
you read my mind Quad i was already downloading the BIOS... i will try flashing then format
start from ground up to trouble shoot -
-
ALSO i think i can confirm its a mobo problem because when i take it out while its off and plug it back in NONE of my status lights show chargeing IE power button and alienhead
spamming FN+2 all the time nothing will get the laptop to show its charging...
it never registers its chargeing in POST or BIOS or while its off ... so i think i am in a pickle -
Uh... mehbeh the AC adapter is bad. You know, broken. It doesn't get hot or anything when you connect it to the laptop? Have you tried another power outlet? But I guess you should try flashing to the old bios and see if it helps before doing anything else.
-
If the ac adapter is broken how the hell he can turn on the laptop? -_-"

sounds more like either a BIOS or Mobo problem to me...one battery, yeps, they can die...but two batteries showing the same is either black magic (Quadzilla voodoo'd Moo-man??) or i'd say you're on the right track with the BIOS and Mobo..
damn mate...bad bad bad...what a pickle! -

I'd definetely contact AW about it. Something is seriously wrong with your mobo.

It's relevant. It's an inside joke.
I think this guy is the one that sabotaged The_Moo™'s M17x. http://forum.notebookreview.com/member.php?u=269986 -
On topic...
I have noticed some strange behaviour during charging. I noticed my battery was almost empty. I felt at the powerbrick but it was cool? although it was plugged in the wall outlet. Then I noticed the blue led, at the end of the cable (near the laptop) was not shining. I took it out the wall outled plugged it into another one. The Led was shining in the other outlet, so it was not broken. When setting it up to the original situation it was working again???It's working proper now, but i did like to know what happend, seems kinda simulair.
Edit: Ok, inside joke... -
Pull the battery again, keep in unplugged (NO POWER SOURCE AT ALL) hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Put the battery back in, plug it back in and test. -

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Did you check the power adapter with a multimeter to ensure that it was
producing the correct voltage and amperage?
Hope this helps. Between my wife and I, we've had over a dozen laptops
through the years and I have seen this situation before.
Laptops power systems are more vulnerable to power surges than desktop
systems. -
I have had similar problems and reported this to Alienware. For me if I can not get FN+f2 to show the battery disable/enable on screen, I have to pull battery and hold power button for 5 seconds. Then when I go back to windows, I have to enable battery then disable battery and then enable battery again, this time it will start charging after about 3 min. Good luck and keep us posted.

i got this to now
Edit:
thx for tip blade445
i turn off m17x
take battery out
hold 10sec +- on/off button
battery back in
turn m17x back on
and he start charging
damn razer mamba if i dont install driver i can turn of battery if i hit DPI buton it wil not onlye + of - DPI of mous it will also turn off battery on off off -
my friend lost his ac adapter, ordered a generic...he is retarded and got one with slightly different voltage..it would power on his computer fine but not charge the batteries
since this isnt really your case i would agree with the magic idea
unless the ac adapter really did start to go bad and it isnt supplying the correct wattage...i already had to replace mine
Edit: basically what vtrick was saying, i stopped reading after the video was posted at the top -

Flextronics
started with the DC side. after a few days of normal use, hadnt packed it up to travel or anything, I would have to jiggle it around to get it to light up blue and work. got to the point whenever i moved locations i would have to spend 5 min moving it around and propping it up in the right position to get it to work. then one day just nothing so I called in and they send a new one next day shipping as with all accessories. -

I would suspect the mobo aswell, maybe a loose connection to the battery? I'd touch them, and see if there's any wobble in any of the battery pins or the connector (I'm not sure if they're attached together or just attached individually)
Definitely worth trying is taking a multimeter to the AC adapter, to ensure it's living up to expectations. I'd also do the reset thing (no power source, press power button, etc)... it's worth a shot. -
Hi Moo,
Oddly enough, I let my battery go completely dead one day, and when I tried to charge it, I had some issues as well. The laptop wasn't showing that it was charging, and after leaving it alone for a few minutes, it evenutally picked up the battery. Something seems a little odd about both BIOS's..... the first one having a small power leak.
My best advice would be to try reflashing BIOS A00 or A01 and see what happens.
Thanks,
Gabe -
Tried Blades IDEA no go
already flashed BIOSes and i have pulled the CMOS
i can't figure it out -
-
yea ill try it again real quick
basically its like pullin the CMOS but not really
re flashed
set bios back to defaults
held the power button
pulled CMOS
and left it off for a long time with no power and now its workin
thanks guys ...

congrats!!!

lol i was getting mad
it showed no signs of the AC adapter even plugged in when it was off so i was worried about the MOBO -
