I am having the same issue . . . all the lights work except for media. What do you mean by restart it? Go Dark and then put it back?

I restarted it twice to no avail, and I also restarted the AlienFX software. I am going to try power cycling the laptop once my downloads complete (500MB over 400k DSL takes a while).

i think what i had to do was change the media buttons colour in the command center, click apply (it stays black) and then restart

i just had the same thing but the 4th keyboard section did not light up and not only did the 4th keyboard not light up, but neither did the power light or the touch pad or the speakers. once i got into windows and command center loaded everything lit up. how weird is that. by the way its a new theme i created with everything morphing that can morph

    Guys,

I had this happen the other night... scared the crap out of me.

Shut down, unplug the AC adapter from the notebook and remove the battery.

With the battery removed, press and hold the power button for about 5-10 seconds. Then reinstall the battery and AC.

When you start up, make sure you hold down the power button for 1-2 seconds... If not it causes one of the USB hubs in the notebook to not initialize properly - aka. no webcam, touch controls, etc.

I spoke with our corporate Dell rep, and he indicated that all of the notebooks that use the touch control board occassionally do this since they're USB devices.

Thanks for the post Denver - this worked for me. You are right - you must unplug the laptop and take the battery out and power cycle it by pressing the power button a bunch of times.

    Hi,
I posted this issue a while back. Also, keep in mind that the integrated webcam also doesn't respond when this issue occurs.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Do you guys think a future driver update will help with the audio controls in the touch button?
