Hey Guys,
Just looking for some input from those of you that are more familiar with the machine than myself. After getting my motherboard replaced by Dell I noticed the fans were spinning a lot harder than before. When measuring my CPU temp I was getting 70 degrees or higher just web browsing on my Q9000. I assumed that the tech simply never replied the stock thermal tape when he replaced the motherboard so I took everything apart and sure enough that was the case. I applied some thermal paste after removing the stock tape, put everything back together and powered on.
Now I am getting an LED error code on boot Caps solid, num and scroll blinking. I believe this is the LCD error code. I also after running the diagnostic receive the error "Error Code 2000-0413 LCD Cable not detected" however the LCD is functioning normally as far as I can see. The only oddity is that the machine is shutting down on its own. I know the first assumption would be that I did a poor job with the thermal paste/ heatsync however the temps are only at ~40 when its shutting down. Could the error be causing the shut down? And if so since the screen is actually functioning does anyone know why I would be receiving an LCD cable error?![]()
Thanks in advance!

I'll tell you this, there are only a few degress C between a great thermal past application and a bad one. As long as you got some in there and tightened the heat sink down properly, you likely won't overheat.
I'd follow my nose on this one. Have you visually verified the LCD connector? If that's the code it's throwing, go with it. -
Thanks!
Temps are FAR better since I re-applied the thermal paste too, Im now sitting around 40 instead of 70 which is making a big difference with the fans kicking in. -
Well...the error is cleared....but Im still getting random shutdowns....

What kind of shut down? Blue screen, or it just shuts off?
