Hi people. I'm new to this forum and thought I would share my recent experience with Alienware. Overall, I love the computer. I just bought a fully loaded laptop with everything but two 256G solid state drives (just opted to get one). Picture is great, HOWEVER....

My laptop crashed the 2nd time I turned it on. The keyboard became lit, but the screen stayed black. I left it for about 3 minutes and nothing happend, so I had to force a shutdown by holding the power button. After, I installed a couple games such as Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 using Steam. Both these games have crashed on me at least 10 times each. I even installed Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne and it crashed on me once with that too. These games were all being played online at the time.

I spent 6 hours with Tech my first two days of having the laptop and they didn't seem to figure out the problem. I installed a new driver for the 280m 2g dual graphics cards, did a benchmark test and even resorted to a system reformat and nothing worked. This was all done with Alienware Tech on the phone and controlling my computer(except system restore).

The third day, I called Dell and told them to either give me a full refund of this laptop or build me a brand spanking new one. I told them to drop about $6000 on a gaming computer that crashes during games isn't exactly a great purchase and I wasn't satisfied.

I'm supposed to recieve this computer by Friday with all the same specs. If I somehow find they sent a refurbed comp, I'll flip out... HA.

If I didn't love how the laptop looks and performs other than crashing, I would never touch Dell again. Let's see how this brand new one works.

Would anyone know or think they know what or would be the problem to this?
