    Hi guys,

I have had the m17x for nearly 2 weeks and have just installed hwmonitor. The readings i'm recording seem a little high (Just played Resident Evil 5) compared to what other people have said in the forums. Here is a screenshot. Oh yeah and please comment on other readings thanks.
    NOTE: no overclock everything stock
    Config: 260m sli, qx9300 @ 2.4ghz, 4gbddr3 @ 1066mhz

There doesn't look to be a problem, your temps look perfectly fine.

What I know of the older m17x frist gen they tend to run around 75c in games. The second gen which is what you have have a lower temp in games but it has a better cooling system.

If the temps get high (90's+) Dell techs have a habit of forgetting to pull the plastic off the bottom of the heatsink where it meets thre CPU. If they do this temps can get high as there is a serious barrier for heat conduction. Numerous members have taken apart the laptop to get tot his and remove it aas dell techs forget once in a while. Doens't look like you have the problem though, but if you did this would be a solution ;)

I agree with DR650SE on that tape issue. But like he seid your temps are good.
