Im getting the Aw m17x, But im stuck on the proccesor.

    These are my options

    Intel® Core™2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

    or

    Intel® Core™2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

But the reason why im stuck is because, The core 2 duo is cheaper and has more ghz, but someone said that the quad actually has more cuz oced the quad has 2.4 and 2.4x4 cores = 9.6 vs the core 2 3.2 oced 2 cores = 6.4?

    Im totally confused lol.

This has been posted many time....search for it!

It depends on your usage...some games do not take advantage of the quad core at this time. But for video editing the quad core is the winner! But, I went with the quad core as it is more future proof and you can overclock most to 2.93 without a sweat!

T9600 - cos its fast for most current tasks, saves power, and leaves you QX9300 upgradability.

The only place I've seen the processor speed as an aggregate is in VMWare ESX cluster environments. Get the cheaper one and upgrade it when you get the money to do so.

    NO!!!!

2.4 for most ppl, 2.5 if your lucky. That lucky guy got a QX9300, which in theory can be taken over 3Ghz... rich guy...

The CPU will get cheaper, even top end model, period. T9600 will be already more than what most need, beside the GPU should be more likely the bottleneck. HP used to do the QX9300 OEM deal, I dunno as I live in the UK.
