Go into bios setting and enable integrated gfx. Go into safe mode and see if it boots. Maybe driver issue for the 9400m.

generally to get into safe mode, press F8 during/shortly after post.

When you see the Alien Head at start up, press F8. It will take you to the screen to choose Safe Mode.

Since you installed a fresh copy of Windows 7, make sure you install the 9400m driver when you are in safe mode. See if that works.

Try resetting your memory and fsb in BIOs if you have it overclocked. Sometiems your computer shuts down due to those reasons.

Also your GPU too if it's OC. Hopefully you didn't install the OS with those hardware OC'ed.

I revert everything to stock whenever I install a fresh copy of an OS, so I won't get a BSOD in the middle of installation.
