kinda like a clicking noise, its stopped it for now but it just does it now and again, as this game doesnt require a cd to play and maybe reading of the HD?

No it's a warning signal from your hard drive... it is telling you it is failing, it will die... you need to call dell

Your GPU's are find, those are safe temps... if you went up into the high 80's or 90's I would be worried but your fine..

Hmm ok then... it is still a warning though have you monitored the temps when playing Warhammer.... use HWmontior.... cuz then it sounds like your HDD is being over taxed for some reason... I think you still got a dud of a HDD but... let's see what's going on

There is a Hard Drive test program on the resource CD that came with your M17x as well. It might actually be the same as linked above, I'm not sure.

You'll need to use the Dell resource DVD to scan each hard drive individually. It'll probably take hours.

I just read your symptoms and it doesn't sound like a hard drive issue. Is it a "click" or more of a "screech"?

Most people do. Normally people who produce audio really care about the results and start tweaking.

Sounds like coil noise from the GPU. Mainly hear it during gaming or whenever the GPU's are stressed right?

Hmm... is this a common issue with 500gb hdds? There was another thread of someone having a problem with their raid 0 2x 500gb hdds.

Your hdds is near the middle of the keyboard while you secondary gpu is by the number pad. Try using vsync to stop it, this will limit your FPS. There was another setting that helps but I don't remember it. I'll have to look it up.

Yeah both in the nvidia control panel or in games you can change it. Check your FPS to see if it's affected.

    Glad it worked.

lol its fine now, i think i pulled the power out the back of the thing, so it went into the build in gfx card, hence why i was lagging lol =)

its really easy to pull out, thought it would take a bit moreof a yank to get it out ;P

One other thing that might help since you have SLI off is turning triple buffering on in the Nvidia Control panel. Then again if it's working well it might not be worth the hassle. Game on!
