Run HWMonitor while you're playing and see what your max temps reach. On my M17, and on my previous HP DV9700t (which died due to nVidia graphics failure fiasco) I would feel heat under my W A S D fingers as well. As long as your temps are <90C max the heat under your fingers is just what it is.

it was cool to the touch underneath, and was disepating cool air, but a slight head on that side of the keyboard, not enough to even be slightly uncomfortable but just weird when ur use to a pc keyboard ;p

    ne1 with a M17x the same?

Mine gets warm when benchmarking but hwmonitor never says the temps get too hot. I also use a cooler so yes it's normal to get a little warm. Monitor your temps to verify everything is ok.

Desktops don't have the CPU and GPU generating heat within 1/2 inch of your fingers either.... :)

The M17x has a metal plat under the WASD keys. I'd imagine it's this that's heating up (metal has a very low heat capacity - about 300 J, IIRC) and that's bleeding through to the keyboard. Nothing to worry about, I don't think.

do not worry it is normal, it only gets slightly warm anyways, compare this to my macbook pro when gaming on it you can barely touch the thing without getting 3rd degree burns :p

My M17x keyboard flexed most at the WASD keys, virtually no flex at the other side. Does yours flex there or did they miss out the metal plate on mine?
