    Hi all,

For some reason, these strange rainbow-outlined circular-shaped chips keep appearing on my screen (I have the larger one) and I have no idea how. I never touch my screen, and I transport my laptop to one place, twice a week, and that's in a padded bag in which I still take care to softly lay my computer down. The chips are sort of peeled...ish? It's hard to describe. When one appears, it looks like sort of dark, blur-inducing substance is blocking off part of my screen, so naturally I go try to rub it off. But then, I realize that the outline was formed before I started rubbing and now it's there permanently.

What could be going on? I've never seen anything like this before...

Is it permanent? It sounds to me like your LCD screen is fubared. It is probably your LCD polarized sheeting and clear display shield are interfering with each other.

    pictures dude.....they speak volumes

and call dell, make it their problem not yours, that is probably what would be a "manufacturing defect"

Gah, I can't really take a picture of it because I don;t have a high-definition camera and it's a relatively tough thing to take a picture of because it's sort of tiny.

It's not something that destroys an experience or anything like that, just something that I fear could be a precursor to something else. It literally does seem like random pieces of my LCD are "peeling" off, though.
