M17x-R2 Screen Issue?

I have a M17x-R2 with the RGB LED screen and when I'm in Windows Media Player, there what seems to be a mark on the screen when I tilt it - the mark is like an oval with all colours inside of it - it looks like what happens when you press a screen with your finger - all these colours 'come up'
The strange thing is the mark is not present anywhere else, e.g. if I have an all white webpage open and tilt the screen to the same angle, there is no mark.
Another strange thing is that when I hover over the media player icon in the taskbar, the little preview window comes up above the icon as normal...and the mark is in the preview window as well in the same place...its quite strange.
Does anyone know what is wrong, and if it is a screen issue or not?

Another thing, If I take a screenshot of WMP open with the mark, when I view the screenshot, the mark is anywhere on the screen...hmm

 

well its probably not the screens image itself. its the physical screen that your seeing doing this at that angle not sure what it would be besides maybe a manufacturing error were the glossy cover is pressing against the lcd its self in a weird way.

 

Yeah, probably. Strange I can only see it when Windows Media Player is open though, and that it shows the mark in the little media player window when I hover over the taskbar icon

You probably can't see the mark though. It's a white mark when the screen is up properly and a coloured one when tilted. Only media player shows the mark.
The second screenie is a white IE8 screen with no mark anywhere.

 

have you tried the entire color spectrum? solid i mean instead of just white?

 

Looks the same on mine. The background image isn't a solid color. And when you tilt the screen too far, colors invert.
