Does the new i7 model use the same graphics system as the previous model; as in 9400M + Radeon HD or Geforce GTX graphics?

Anyone know when the newly refreshed models will be available in Australia?

Would DPC latency problems seen on the M17x-R1 exist if I used an SSD?

Are the touchpads on either the M17x-R1/2 or the M15x really THAT horrible? I used the M15x briefly at a Dell Kiosk...and it feels like the pad isn't sensitive at all. I'm not sure about the M17x ones though...

the new i7s will not have 9400 and no hybrid AFAIK therefore slashing your battery life.

DPC latency problems are connected to Nvidia chipset + Nvidia GPUs, SSDs won't change anything.

The touchpads suk in windows but work perfectly under linux (more sensitive and responsive) so I assume it can be tweaked on a software level in Windows.

I doubt it works perfectly in Linux lol. Maybe a lot better IDK but far from perfect. M17x touchpad SUCKS!!!

If only Dell improve touchpad on R2. Does anyone think of that :D

Ah right. I obviously didn't read enough of the DPC latency issue to know. That said, the new models may not have the issue right? Because of the default HD 4870 and i7 chipset which nvidia do not manufacture...

You should try it! I was astonished by the smoothness of the touchpad under linux (Ubuntu, OPenSUSE, Fedora). This touchpad is amazing. It suks in windows though, but I bet it can be tweaked.

Yeah, systems like these and Batt life... The only time I can see myself using the batt on my R2 is once every month or two when I let it drain just to keep it conditioned correctly. Forgot to do that with my Dell 9300 and it'll last maybe 20min if I'm lucky, lol.
