Everytime I try to run a scheduled disk check on my raided hard drives, it always freezes before it finishes the count down where it says press any key within 10 seconds to skip.check.disk. and even if I try to skip it pressing a key it doesn't respond like it's not recognizing the keyboard or something

This happened to me as well. Mine would hang at the "press key within 1 sec" prompt. I did some investigation and found this is a known windows 7 issue and occurs most commonly on machines with IR devices. I just had to keep restarting my machine 3- 4 times and it finally ran chkdsk. No problems were detected on my RAID 0. I did some research and installed the hotfix, now the problem is gone. Here is a link to the window hotfix.
