Hi,
Just received my new r2 and I love it. Took them long enough, but that's besides the point. I have a few issues I can't easily seem to find searching for help results so I apologize if I just glanced over them again and again.
Half the time my FN keys don't seem to work properly. I mean, they SEEM to take effect but the overlay never appears so for things like the battery key I can't tell at all. Any way to fix this?
ALSO the FN key for the battery only seems to have two things to it when the overlay DOES appear. Enabled and disabled, yet I keep seeing references to a third option that doesn't seem to be available to me. Any idea where it went?
Also the 'plugged in, not charging' thing is really annoying. I've done as others in the forum suggest (replugging it, unplugging both ends trying it again, unplugging with a shut down and holding on the power button to discharge it), nothing seems to work.
Anyone have any luck or experience with these problems?

Just kind of adding to it - the keys such as forward, pause, back, work only if itunes for example is on top. I don't suppose that's normal?
Sorry for posting this, just can't seem to figure it out. -
What you are referring to is the OSD (onscreen display). You can try reinstalling that from dell's download site and see if they are displayed.
I dont know what third option you are referring to for the battery.. Its either enabled or not.. Possibly someone can clarify.. I never really looked into that.. I leave mine enabled all the time.
The charging issue can be resolved. Shutdown the laptop, unplug, take the battery out, open up the lid and press the power button. then put battery back in and boot up and it should be good. -

i can confirm the itunes thing.. only works on top. that sucks.

I get a similar behaviour on my r1 - once or twice a week maybe - and what I do, if the functions keys seem to not work, I just run osdmain.exe from program files/osd after windows and all my startup items have loaded and it all works out like a charm. Even enabling/disabling the battery works properly.
