    I'm thinking about trading my desktop pc

    Antec 900 case super gamer case / antec truepower-ii 430w psu
    AMD Dual Core Opteron 165 @ 2.7ghz
    G.Skillz ddr500 ram 2GB w/ heatsinks
    Scythe Ninja Plus rev.b cooler
    Western Digital 250GB Sata
    DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert mobo
    Evga nvidia 7950GT 256mb dual dvi
    nec dvdrw

    for a Alienware M5500 .. Pentium M 1.6ghz, 1.5gb ram, ATI X400,

    I'm not sure since I have a dual core and I am going down to a Pentium M

    No... don't even think about it especially considering that the notebook ran hot and that performance would be such ****. If anything buy that HP they just reviewed which will give better performance than that if you have the money.

    DO NOT DO THAT TRADE YOU WILL BE SORRY (sorry for the caps just don't even think about it).

    edit: battery life sucks too :)
