Hello. I currently have an alienware M5790 (no not a 9750) and it has a DVI port on the back. I just found out that DVI seems to be the same as HDMI and there is a DVI to HDMI cable that I can buy off of Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Dvi-HDmi-Cable-6FT-M-m/dp/B0002CZHN6 Anyway, my question is: Will this cable allow me to connect my laptop to my HD Samsung Television with HDMI ports?

Im sorry if this question seemed ridiculous... I just don't want to purchase it off amazon and have it not work for some odd reason. Thank you for your response though.

The dots do not indicate ridiculousness. The forum does not allow me to post with less than 10 characters.

You're going to want a single link connector, though those are the majority of them out there anyways.

I have my laptop now connected to my LCD television... it says no signal. What do I have to do to allow it to transmit the signal?
