    hi bros.
i bought Fujitsu 320gb HDD SATA , specs like this:

Data Transfer Rate: 300MBps Maximum External

    · Rotational Speed: 5400 rpm

    · Interfaces/Ports: 1 x 7-pin Serial ATA/300 Serial ATA

    · Form Factor: 2.5" Internal Hot-swappable

    · Dimensions: 0.37" Height x 2.76" Width x 3.94" Depth

I put into the second slot for HDD and start laptop.
then M7700 can not load Windows well, it only runs to WIndows first screen then restart and show me Scratch windows screen with blue color at the second times and stuck at loop starting.

Could you tell me why? And Can i still use this hard disk.
    THanks so much

You should read this thread I made regarding the issue.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=347779

You can look and see if Fujitsu offers a tool for changing firmware settings. If not, try Hitachi Tool

    Good luck,
Please remember that you can only change the firmware settings on your drive from a system which can read your Fujitsu drive (AKA the system must be able to read SATA 300 drives, which your M7700 cannot)

Your M7700 obviously has an older revision motherboard which only supports SATA 150 drives

Dont you love how unknowledgeable members always say SATA 300 and SATA 150 drives are backwards compatible, because they arent.

    like K-Tron said.

some drives are SATA-I and II compatible (either with software config or jumper), and some are not.

I use Seagate Momentus drives for my notebook and use the jumper setting to switch it to SATA-I mode.... no loss in performance and simple.

Hitachi drives use a utility as well, but requires a bit of work since you have to put the drive in a SATA-II compatible notebook or desktop, then run the Hitachi HDD utility and switch the SATA modes... then you can install it in your system and it will run at SATA-I mode.
