Ok so Im listing games that Ive recently played on my set up and giving fps, please post your gaming experience as would like to see how it performs on games i have yet to play. When I say maxed out res is at 1440x900.

Crysis - Between 30-50 fps depending on how much is going on, 1440 x 900 No AA, V- sync on, Everything set to high except post processing and shaders to low.

Fear 2 - Average 40 fps though it goes as low as 30 and as high as 50, all settings maxed out including AA 1440x900.

Orange Box - Maxed out, runs like a dream over 60 fps.

Doom - Maxed out, runs like a dream over 60 fps.

UT3 - Maxed out, runs at around 50 fps.

for crysis put your shadows on low and your shaders on med. if you can high. and put your post processing on very high. turn the water on med (i would put it on low). and put the object on high. textures can go on very high if you have 4gb of ram it will use your turbocache to process that. and tell us what you get. (try it with v-synce off.)

note you will get a big performance increase just by going to 4gb of ram. (vista uses your ram nicely in games.)

if your cpu was alittle bit faster (maybe not try it.) you should be able to max out ut3 at 1920*1200 and get 30fps with ease. and i haven't tried any other of those games. what else you have?

and for fear 2....keep AA on 2x, you dont need 4x. It will give you a nice boost. And try it with no AA, it seriously doesnt make a difference for the performance hit. Nice results for two 8700's....clock ur core2 up a little and u will see a nice jump

Cheers guys, Dondadah I only have 2Gb. Not much point putting 4 Gb in as the Board can only use 2.5Gb with SLi enabled, it sucks and still pretty pissed at Alienware for offering a 4Gb option when the board can only use 4Gb in total (1Gb GPU, 512Mb OS).

Im just installing the last remanant now and will post results, prince of persia runs ok but not at full specs need to test further and will post results soon.

If you use .Windows 64bit can you bypass that limitation? Or is a chipset limitation? BTW great benchmarks.

Its the actual chipset, which I was VERY annoyed about when I found out about it. BTW The last remnant results are gonna have to wait as the download was a dud so having to dl a different version, I have ordered the game from ebay but that will take even longer so will let ya know how it goes.

The benchmarks are pretty good, but apparently the 8700's can be overclocked quite well. I havent managed to oc it very well and seems to really limit my performance when I do, only tried it the once using Ntune though. Anyone had much luck OC their 8700 in an m9750?

And can anyone recomend any good games that run very well on the 8700 SLi set up?
