In advance: anyone who helps me with this, you are amazing.
I put my computer on standby, and left for a couple hours (probably not a good idea, I know) when I came back it was out of standby, but the monitor was not on. When I try restarting it, I hear my hard drive, my fans kick in, the quick launch and power button, and the alien head, all light up blue, but the monitor doesn't show anything (not even a backlight comes on)
Following the advice of google searches, I unplugged the battery, held the power button for a minute, and put it back in, and nothing changed. I then took off the bottom, unplugged + replugged the CMOS battery, which didn't work, and then I gutted my video cards and RAM, and tried with just the CMOS.
When I restarted the computer the monitor flashed white for a second and then closed in (like cathode ray tvs used to do when you turned them off).
Then I tried reseating the LCD cable and LCD inverter cable, which didn't work either.
Plugging it into an external monitor doesn't work, the same problem happens and the external monitor reads "No Signal"
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as otherwise I might have to send it in to alienware, in which case I might just buy a new computer considering how expensive I've heard repairs normally are. (And I'm off of my warranty)
Thanks,
Alex

is the light on the AC adapter blinking?
guess you tried 1 mem stick at the time, right?
try without hard drive too. -
EDIT: I tried taking out each Memory stick (I have 2 slots) and putting each in every possible combination, as well as trying without the hard drive. Neither worked unfortunately.
The light on the AC adapter is green, and I have no reason to believe it isnt working, but it might be the problem (because I upgraded to SLi, which takes more power) and the battery only works for 5-10 minutes on one full charge.
I'll try each memory stick 1 at a time, and without the hard drive and post my results later -
I think the motherboard might be broken

It sounds like video related but it could also be a bad motherboard. If you are not seeing the boot screen or able to get into the bios, please contact our support line to assist you on this matter as soon as possible and the agent will advise accordingly.
If you have SLI setup, you may try with just the parent video card, follow these steps. Should you need further instructions, do not hesitate to send me a PM.
Thank you. -
If I take out the daughter one what should I do with the heatsink? Should I screw it in or leave it out completely?
I'm guessing i should try the reverse too, correct?
Also, can I switch the video cards (test the daughter in the parent slot or vice versa? -
Parent = Secondary.
will work only on it's port, cant be swapped as you asked.
if you leave the heatsink out, it will cause the northbridge to overheat, making the performance decrease significantly, get BSODs, o the system shutdown.

so, it could be motherboard, or Daughter video card.
i would incline to think it's the mobo itself.
is the power button blinking orange when you press it?
now when you clear the CMOS, leave the CMOS battery out for at least 2min on this computer.
if you send it to Alienware it's shipping/handling + 2 hours labor + parts. we're talking about ~$600 total
if you do send it be sure to ask for a 10% disccount on parts -
How do I do that?
M9750 Monitor won't work-Tried almost everything
