Does anybody know yet if the M9750 will have the option to upgrade to a single or dual 8800M's. If Alienware does not offer the service is it possible to do it through 3rd party means?

I've out of the loop in the laptop area of the market. Sorry if this question seems ridiculous.

    I doubted it anyways.

I may get a 17x or a Sager. Which would you recommend for top of the line notebook performance?

The Dell costs much more then the other 2 and I am liking the idea of a quad core in my laptop.

I like the Alienware for the looks and features.

    From Alienware themselves,

    Question:
Will the Area 51 m9750 ever support the Geforce 8800m graphics card? If no, is this because of a technical limitation or a corporate decision?
    Answer:
No, due to technical limitations. For those who are looking for the GeForce 8800m, we have the Area-51 m17x now available.

Not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone know when AW or Dell are going to go Quad CPU? I know Sager already has

yep, Sager archives quadcore by using desktop CPUs. AW and Dell will wait for the Montevina-enabled mobile quadcores (which will come out for the first time at the end of the year for $1000)

    9 series are not Montevina....

yes, more powerful CPU and less power usage.

BTW nirv, the XPS 1730 is not the most pwrful, the d901c is.

    With OC.

Dexgo got 14.5K with A SINGLE CARD. And that is w.o the new QC's and Sli and so forth. If we put forth that SLi = at least 50% increase, then 20K is easily possible.

    get the sager.
It seems it's not possible to use X9000 in m15x (because of heat issue, it can't be use at 3.2ghz, only 2.8 (news from alienware)), so why should it be possible in m17x ?
And D901C is the beast of the moment... and for few years !!!

My best choice, if i have money, would be this D901C with centrino 2 chipset... :p
    Perhaps in few month... :D

The m17X is bigger, more space to dissipate heat

heh yeah MiniKissKool, too early to rule out the m17x's X9000 performance (that said, it sounds like it still won't be OCable)

@Nbaumann - More space, but another GPU is added into the equation as well as a second bay for another hard drive, which would also increase heat. More space, more components.

That's true but I believe the assumption from the person I quoted is wrong.
