Hi ,im looking at buying a 9750 with 8700sli cards,as this is now the only card availaible and the price in UK seems ok,having read lots of posts the results seem to vary quite consierably, can anybody who has this set up or used it give me a genuine idea of what it will run (game wise). Will probably go for the 1440x900 screen as it should put less strain on the cards, also do you think i should go for vista or xp.Thanks for any replies in advance, i guess im trying to find out if the negative posts about this system are the minority and the people withou problems just don't post, anyway sorry to rant on and thanks for looking, Rigs

For the most part, you will hear more from unhappy users than satisfied ones anywhere.

I have an m9750 with 1 7950GTX and am fairly happy with it. I had some severe problems with it earlier, but alienware worked through most of them, and it now seems to be working perfectly (knock on wood).

While I cannot comment on the behavior with 8700ms, the system itself seems very well made, and i am satisfied.

I recommend Vista particularly with the new 8700 cards. Vista with SP1 runs just fine for me on my m9750.

My m9750 is in for repairs due to overheating and some bad video cards possibly, they don't know exactly what the problem is yet since it still hasn't arrived at the repair facility. Anywho, besides that one major problem I had with my m9750, its still a very good system. When I realized my computer was not functioning properly, usually running games twice as slow as everyone elses on here, I was still pretty surprised by the performance. The 22 FPS in COD4 was not impressive, but hopefully that will be fixed when I get it back.

TL;DR- The m9750 is a great system, just get the right drivers for your 8700 GT's. If you want a more futureproof laptop, I would suggest getting the m15x or the m17x.
