My M17x arrived yesterday, 1 day early.

Current laptop is a XPS M1710. It's been a problem free computer and I was looking to just upgrade and hand down the 3 yr old computer to my son.

I told Dell rep's I really wanted a good quality 17" laptop, they suggested a Studio 17. I returned it the next day - as the screen was just washed out.. and not nearly as nice as my OLD laptop.

Next they suggested the XPS 16. I received that, the screen was nice - but I never thought the screen size would make that much a difference, but it did. Frustrated.. feeling like I was downgrading instead of upgrading, I sent that back and decided to order the MX17 - even though I'm not a gamer.

I received the MX17 yesterday, 1 day early. To me.. this looks like a replacement of my old M1710 (which I kept asking Dell's rep's "what replaces the M1710")

First impressions.. LOVE IT! Love the lighted keypad, love that I can turn off the speaker lights, fantastic screen.. just finally happy!

Congrats on the new laptop. And of course the RGB LED screen is a sweet option over the standard screens.

    Enjoy the new toy :)
