Anyone else get a huge loss in 3dmark06 with 9.10 and w7? I went from 11200 (3870 x2) now I get 10200 (3870 x2). I have the indicator icon enabled and it throws the indicator in the upper right hand corner. I dont know for certain how much real life game impact it has at this point. I heard this driver enables physx for ATI users. Is this true? Does anyone have a physx game that can verify this? I am tempted to go back to 9.8 and mob mod it. Also this driver doesn't seem to scale well. (i used the official w7 for notebooks driver from the AMD website).

Any thoughts on this? I dont have a physx option in CCC.

    Thanks,

    StevenX

Those are for desktops if im not mistaken... The reason you cant find them is because the latest drivers for notebooks are 9.9.

Do you actually see 9.10 in that link ? :p

As for the Physx question, where did you read/hear about it ? Cause its surely not in the changes .pdf :)

Weird.. the page says 9.9. not 9.10. Anyway it is Driver Packaging Version 8.65-090813a-087751E-ATI

I am sorry.. I thought it was 9.10. I guess it is the beta 9.9. I looked in my downloads and sure enough it says beta 9.9. Oh well.. I will try 9.10 and mob mod it.

    Thanks!

Im still using 9.8 (didnt like 9.10 so i rolled back to these ones). But im pretty sure the latest mobility drivers are 9.9. If you installed 9.10 without using mobility modder id suggest you reinstall them after modifying them since those are meant for desktops.

As for the 3dmark score it might drop (although 1k seems a bit too much), you shouldnt worry about it, pay more attention to game benchmarks, average fps in general.

9.10 are mostly for the newest GPU's (5series) so dont expect much difference for your cards. As for physx its still all software processing, no support for the ATI's yet.

Just a question, what is the performance difference between mob mod drivers and those from the official sites. Is the mob mod drivers perform worse or better? If yes, wouldn't it be easier for AMD to just mob mod their drivers? Thx

yes its only modding em so as to be used on laptops otherwise it would tell you that you have the best driver already or these drivers aint for your system bla bla...

any performance incread/decrease is depending on the new drivers and any updates that might be included :)
