The problem is sure people are cancelling their orders but not everyone reads these forums. (notebookreview.com is about the best place to learn about comps). Alot of people read the magazines like PC shopper and PC magazine and they are all fully supporting the m15x. I have yet to see a magazine that does not back it.

Anywho some more official Alienware rep posts would be great it would make a lot more customers feel like they are getting supported rather than gutted alive.

Well I would say thank you but thats the same thing we've heard from all departments. I'm not trying to be rude but I would hope that we would here something from the product group we've been dealing with the issue for some time now and we keep getting the same response. This issue is making people return their system and also has people cancel . For example NEWFIE was having a new system built and then canceled because of all the issues. I just hope we hear something soon. I guess I can say thank for at least responding.

Still no answer to this simple question, i guess a US representative like Armando can't/won't or simply doesn't care to respond to matters that doesn't concern US customers. Him being in charge of the forum i didn't think it was that far fetched of an inquiry that i made, guess i was wrong. I know some of you might think i'm being petty and i am aware that there are much bigger concerns (m15x train of misery) that Alienware needs to focus on. But i just feel like this is an easily resolved issue that would make all customers feel like they've got equal access to AW resources. I'll say it again, it's about the principle of the matter.

    Hey Dready,

Maybe you can get someone to post in the AW forums regarding this. I can't since I no longer have an M15x.

But I am sure of the other guys woudl love to help you. I would be curious to see if they allowed the post lol.. Since it's moderated forum.

    Hello Armando
Could you halp with tihs issue:
Enable touchpad while mouse plugged in

every time when I plug in external mouse touchpad is switch off :(
Do you have any idea how to fix it?
P.s. Only US customers can download latest WHQL driver (from "My Hive Area") to fix this problem
but after that FN+F12 key combination does not disable the touchpad and touchpad light. So even this WHQL driver doesn't halp.
    Any solutions Armando?
    Please help

well, if you really want the touchpad on while external mouses are plugged in (can't understand that myself), just uninstall the synaptics touchpad driver. that should not disable the touchpad while an external mouse is used.

Check under Synaptics Pointing Device>>Device settings, Make sure "Disable internal pointing device" is checked. Here is a screenshot of how it should look.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you.

Right,I would like to use external mouse and tochpad when I surf internet or write in MS Office, sometime is to far to put hand on the mouse only for one click. Is easily to use touchpad in this situation but when I start play in some game touchpad distrub in all game,so I would like use FN+F12 to switch off touchpad.
P.s. If I uninstall the synaptics touchpad driver I'll lose all function and options from touchpad wihich I need

I dont have any trace of this option>>> http://img362.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mousevn8.jpg As I wrote only US costumers can have. Some more info in hire>>> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=232433&page=2
P.s. Only US customers can (people who purchase m15x from UK doesnt have Touchpad Driver 10.1.8.0 WHQL in "My Hive Area">>> http://img528.imageshack.us/my.php?image=m1my8.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/my.php?image=m2qy9.jpg ) download latest WHQL driver (from "My Hive Area") to fix this problem
but after that FN+F12 key combination does not disable the touchpad and touchpad light. So even this WHQL driver doesn't halp.

yeah nofate try that out let me know if it works, but I've tried that driver before and it really didn't do anything but not let me turn off my touchpad. Also if you could tell me what version number you have that would be great.

Off to unpack my M15X from downstairs that DHL forgot to PICK UP and I'll try that driver as well because I didn't have that option in mouse properties either.

crystak, You don't have the latest driver installed but even if you did I don't think it work just because I think there is a problem with the V6.3 cause if you look at Armando's it was V6.5

Mine hasn't changed either actually. I've run the set-up once, restarted then I checked and everything was the same as before, V 6.3 so I've ran the setup again, restarted and still the same.

To make matters worse, I can't find the synaptics drivers in myHive either, currently the only place being the CD I received with the laptop.

So fine, there's a problem with the 6.3 but how on earth do I upgrade?

Crystak try to uninstall first the touchpad driver, restart m15x then install Armando's driver and restart laptop again. That how I've done and it halps but only partially. As I said FN+F12 key combination does not disable the touchpad and touchpad light now
P.s. It doesnt halp enough Armando but thank you even for that :)

Ok, tried that as well; so I've uninstalled the driver using device manager, restarted the computer and no icon popped up on the taskbar and there was no Synaptics driver in device manager either.

After restart, I install the drivers I've just downloaded (thanks Armando for the direct link) and the V6.3 drivers are back again.

So how come that setup installed 6.3 for me (the ones I've had before) but it installed 6.5 for you, nofate? What does 6.3/ 6.5 even mean because there's another v(ersion) 10.1.8 at the top.

nofate, it would be a lot of help if you could tell us what process is taking up all the cpu. Next time you try it hit ctrl+alt+delete first then plug it in and let us know what process is using the 100% this would help a lot.

    Hi,

As Tacomenace mentioned, use Alt>Control>Del, on Task Mgr click on processes Tab, look for the CPU columm and double click on where it says CPU, let us know what it lists first on that row.

    Thank you.

Sounds like it would be the "System" process. They don't show it in Vista anymore like they did in XP (and called it "System")

perhaps "it" has been delayed because they're re-designing the thing properly this time..... either that or all the kids at the lego factory where it's built have gone on strike :D

just to specify my original question, I am asking about the new chassis of the white roswell one, that CS reps are telling us was the cause for delay over the past month of everyone's orders... NOT the black skullcap design....

My question is if you can confirm the fact that there was a redesign or a new part or whatever on the current chassis that supposedly just got in...
