Hi guys,
It's only my second post here after getting the M17x as a automatic replacement for a ordered M1730.
Started reading all the posts here waiting the one month for it to show up and it finally arrived a couple of days ago!
All good to start. Started loading all my programmes on and playing some Crysis all on High 1920x1200. Loving it.
But then I started to think about OCing my CPU so I downloaded nTune.
As soon as I clicked the agreement button under performance I got a BSOD tried a second time and got the same thing so googled it and turns out it's a common problem.
So I uninstall and start looking at BIOS OC, upped my FSB on the CPU from 1066 to 1071 (increments of 5 which is what a read somewhere) saved the change and reboot but got a black screen with cursor flashing in the top left.
So I go back in a reload default setting save and still get black screen.
While I'm waiting starting to search the forums because I've read about this happening before after a couple of minutes of flashing cursor it pops up "Missing OS Press a key"
Mmmmm so is this where you remove the CMOS? battery or have I somehow wiped my OS and need to do a reinstall?
Any advise greatly appreciated!

Sub 1100 FSB look to be a problem for M17x, if you can enter in bios try settings fsb to 1066 and check if windows load.
If not your windows just get corrupted and you will need a reinstall. -
If you only have a single drive ? then maybe your Bootmgr got wiped . If you have a Raid config then maybe your bios reset and thus reset everything to default which isnt Raid.
Youll have to Google how to fix your bootmgr if so .
Other then those couple things you could do a system restore or just load everything from the supplied disc . -
So less than 1100 is a problem BIG333?
The setting reset to 1066 when I restored defaults.
Still no luck. -
I think your onto it Quadzilla.
I had 2 x HDD in RAID and now BIOS is showing SATA Operation is AHCI.
So I'll need to do a Windows reinstall I assume? -
When you overclock it to something like 1070,1080 M17x tends to apply some crazy divisors which cause instability.
If you have RAID the problem is probably that the RAID is disabled now. Try setting a RAID 0 array. -
No just choose (raid) in the drop down menu.

Bingo!
Back in action.
Thanks guys you are lifesavers.
Plus rep given.
