When I click on the mobile PC section on the control panel and go to "change desktop background" it takes me to another tab on IE?? It also does this on various other personalization menu items. Can someone please help me to correct thsi problem?

    Thanks.

The easiest way to change your desktop background is to simply open (View) a picture in a proprietary application (i.e. Windows picture manager, paint, etc) and then click the right mouse button. From there you can select "Set as background. For best results make sure the picture is of the same aspect ratio as your screen, or even better, the same resolution.

    Hope this helps.

If you are running Windows Vista and want to change your desktop wallpaper via Control Panel you need to go to Mobile PC --> Choose "change desktop background" under the Personalization menu.

From there you need to press the Browse button and find a picture you want to use as a wallpaper from your hard drive.

If you are running Control Panel in Classic View, the same option can be found by going to Personalization --> Desktop Background.

It should be a piece of cake.

Or the easies way is to just browse to .jpg, .jpeg or .gif file in your hard drive, then right click over it and select "Set as dektop background" from the dropdown menu.

I'm not sure what you mean with the " It takes me to another tab in Internet Explorer", but I hope this helps.

You misunderstand. I knwo how to change the desktop. But when I go through the control panel menu itesm to make changes with the desktop or windows themes and click it (the item) it takes me to IE!! Very odd. Only happens on my mALX and not on my m15x.

Oh okay, well that is very odd indeed, I've never ran into such problem. I'm sorry I can't help you out with this problem!

If the problem starts to annoy too much, there's always a solution though. Fresh windows install. :D
