Modified nVidia Driver 364.XX DX12

could someone please verify if DX12 is working with this, and if this modified driver installs on systems like M17X-R4 and AW17 and AW18 in Windows 10.

If you own Rise of the Tombraider, could you attempt to enable DX12 please, and see if it works, if the option is there at least.

remember, Disable DSE if you didn't hack the registry to keep it disabled, and run the setup as Admin please.

I want to see if it works on all laptops from Alienware, like M17X-R4 and M18X-R2 and AW17 and AW18 in all the various modes.

AFAIK it does infact work. One personal has given feedback so far by creating a post using the 364.XX driver (thought it was not mine) and without load they say they were getting low GPU clocks. (course in the information supplied, they only showed the DESKTOP as being the only thing graphically being rendered, and nothing else running)

So, inconclusive, at best.

Since it's the new DX12 driver, obviously we should want to use it

 

Ah I get it...But I don't have a DX12 OS, I cannot test that sry..and GPU clocks should be lower with basic rendering, as you said. A ROTTR run would be more beneficial, @thegh0sts is using Win10 and has ROTTR too, he's travelling and he will surely post his experience once he catches up.

 

This driver should work for windows 8 not just windows 10

 

oddly, 1500 people out there have 900M videocards from me, but not a single person in a week can test a driver for me. LOL

Remember how hard some of us tried to get people to post on IdeaStorm to promote positive design changes in Alienware notebooks and express some urgency for fixes to problems with things like messed up fan tables and crappy locked BIOS. RIGHT! About 50 people have asked em for drivers or complained about some issue or needed help related to this thread, yet no one is here, lol. It's kind of creepy. Like ghost town creepy. When ever I link the driver to ask someone to try it, I do not hear back from them on it ever again. (save 1 guy said it didn't install.. DSE will not showup when windows is updating of course...screws around with it)

Actually I had 1 person use the 364 driver but it wasn't mine. Great score. I think either Firestrike just give you extra points for free or the driver really works well... so I added the usual fix to mod the driver.

Without test benches or input, I'm afraid this is as modified as I will make it, not knowing it works or not, lol.

 

A) should work on windows 8
B) should work windows 10
C) It should support DX12 on widows 10
D) It should support G-Sync
E)Should support After market upgrade trends - most but not all hardware ID's added.
(Clevo, MSI, ASUS, DELL,HP,APPLE, Alienware..)

 

Is that just the latest driver with the modded inf? Im using the 364.51 driver atm on a M18Xr2 (Dual 980m). Also using windows 10 (its behaving itself for the moment). Seems to work fine but ive no DX12 games to play with it atm.

After the DDU from 364.51 and rolling back to 362.00 my AWCC was acting all weird slow time starting-up and RTSS won't change it's colors, had to remove the RTSS and uninstalling AWCC took time as well (Had to manually remove registries to make the AWCC install & Run properly).....extremely weird this Win8.1 is vs Win7 the latter was rock stable for 8 Years since I had my M15x and sadly It's not the case with Win8.1, I'm afraid what Win10 brings to table.

I am on windows 8.1. Latest drivers also throttle.

 

Dunno what might be the cause. Personally since I installed the latest drivers my windows 10 OS has been perfectly stable. No corruption or errors so far and no need to restore from my image backup.

Games seem to play fine tho ffxiv will throttle like all drivers post 350.12 if I set max settings and no fps cap. Hoping that legacy boot bios being worked on might do something if raidar and that are successful.

 

Well, at least there are some peeps that are satisfied.

Latest drivers seem to be a lot better in terms of throttling. Tried Dirt Rally and seems to be OK. Also Far Cry 4 is a lot better.

m18x R2 with Single 980m,

Prema V2 Bios, Clevo GPU from Woodz and drivers from J95!
