I agree with your video review, which was not bad btw.

The design and build quality is quiet impressive. It's not made out of the same anodized aluminum as with the m17x. Yet, they share the same bold look that certainly stands out.

As regards graphic and multimedia performance, I'm probably gonna try Modern Warfare 2 on it sometime this week and see how well my build handles the different settings.

But, overall, I'm very satisfied with this product and would encourage anyone on the fence to jump over and make the purchase.

I really do regret not buying it now, I mean even if saving for a SLI + i7 combo might be wiser, the more pics and videos I've seen of it it just comes across as alot sleeker and well built then I had ever imagined, it just seems like it has good craftsmanship in general and not as guady as I originally thought. +repped nice job and grats to any M15x owners out there.

If you have a Microcenter nearby they have one on display or atleast mine does.. It was nice to see it in person finally.. After owning the M17x and not enjoying the screen much or at all for that matter, the M15x screen was Amazing !! and this was the 1600x900 which is what i would buy if i were purchasing one :).. I was tempted right then and there to snag it honestly after seeing the screen on it /drool..

Thanks ^_^ Yeah, I just switched on my camera and ranted as best I could for a few minutes :p

As for issues with the M17x screen, I have heard it has some absurd auto-dimming "feature" which kills the experience.

Just the auto-contrasting/dimming feature like the OP stated.. Great screen but that part drove me banana's to the point where i was not enjoying the machine as a whole... Some people dont seem to mind it but im not one of them sadly... Dondadah88 bought my machine and hes loving it :)..

Dammit, im stuck using my netbook at the mo. Useless things can't do decent Youtube. I'll have to wait till a little later to have a look at home. There has been a complete lack of media on the M15 x, which I find quite strange. Its always good to seem some vid reviews coming up.

Nice review! I would echo some of the comments here, encouraging you to add some sample gaming footage with frame rates. What I think would be great would be some video showing the screen quality, showing extreme viewing angles, both with a black background and a colorful one. I think that would help a lot of folks.

Also, how rigid is the screen lid? Is it also magnesium like the chassis? If so, it should resist twisting nicely. It would provide better screen protection and help with the longevity of the hinges I imagine.

Lastly, with so much talk about the touchpad, perhaps you could show how smooth the movement is on video.

It might be asking a lot but you did such a great job so far I thought I'd encourage you to take it to the next step! Perhaps even some written commentary if you don't want to do more video?

    In any case, great job!

    1) I will get a vid of the actual game performance up in a few days hopefully!

    2) The lid is very rigid, compared to my unibody macbook, it is the 2nd most rigid lid I have felt. Almost no flex at all, and yes, the lid is magnisium like the chassis.

    3) I will showcase the behavior of the touchpad in my upcoming pros and cons vid.

Thanks for all the comments and views so far everyone! I will continue to make videos of my experience with the new M15x and will hopefully answer the questions of any prospective buyers. I will post the links to my videos on here as soon as they are up

    very good!

but you need better lighting...it got very hard to see some things you were trying to point out. a little prep-work can fix this up pretty easy.

also, you might want to try to some cinematic angles when showing off the ports and such, in addition to the 'casual' angles.

don't get me wrong though, it was definitely a very nice review. considering it was a 'spur of the moment' thing, thats even more impressive.

    /agree

Panning from one extreme viewing angle to the other would be cool too to show the laptop and the screen angles at the same time ;)
